About us

Built for the person at the desk when the slot slips

Kilimanjaria was founded in Madrid in 2024. We make one thing: AI freight route replanning and load optimization for logistics operations desks. Not a TMS. Not a visibility platform. One thing, done right.

Freight operations desk with shipping route displays and carrier coordination screens

Why we started Kilimanjaria

Jose Luis Vega de Seoane spent ten years running freight operations at a Madrid-based 3PL. The pattern he kept seeing: a port slot slips at 14:00, the desk spends the next hour phoning three carriers, and a detention invoice for $2,000 shows up three weeks later. By then the window to dispute it is gone and the data is stale. Every time, it was avoidable if the desk had known and acted within the first 30 minutes.

The tools available to most desks were built for a world where disruptions are rare. They are not rare. European and transatlantic freight corridors see slot changes, gate cutoff shifts, and carrier capacity drops every working week. The scramble is not an edge case; it is the default condition.

Kilimanjaria was founded in Madrid in 2024 to close that gap. The product is specific: monitor active shipments, detect port disruptions the moment they register, and surface a rerouted plan with carrier allocations before the desk has to make the call. Not a TMS. Not a visibility dashboard. One loop, closed automatically.

We are independently funded and focused on European and transatlantic freight corridors. Data is processed and stored within the EU, Frankfurt region.

How we build

Desk-first thinking

Every feature is evaluated by one question: does this make the freight desk's job faster, or does it add more work? We do not build reporting tools for people who already have too many tabs open.

Concrete cost, not abstract efficiency

Detention fees are measurable. We track them before and after. We are not selling a vague "productivity lift." We are selling a reduction in a specific invoice line item that most freight desks can already name.

No rip-and-replace

The desk's TMS is already in place. Kilimanjaria connects to it via API. We work alongside what the team already uses, not instead of it. New tools that require a desk to change its entire workflow do not get adopted.
